Winona Ryder - Winona Lauro Horowitz - was born in Winona Minnesota. Her parents, Winona Ryder's parents, gave her the name of the town she grew up in. Michel Horowitz was her father and Cynthia Palmer, his mother are both authors and editors. Ryder is a Jew. Ryder believes that her father came from an ethnically Jewish background. The actress is the younger sister of Uria as well as two half siblings Jubal as well as Sunyata. In the year Ryder was just seven years old, her family relocated to Mendocino County California. There was no electricity. Ryder became an avid book reader because there was television. Ryder began to take acting classes at the American Conservatory Theatre in 1983 aged 12. Lucas was dismissed in the year 1986 and Ryder, then only 15, landed an acting job as a lead actor. Ryder endured bullying while in highschool. Her acting career, she hoped that it would aid her. Sadly, this didn't occur. However, she continued to pursue her goals. In 1988, it was the year that Tim Burton released Beetlejuice that she got her big break. Ryder was a star in several films. In 1993, she was nominated twice for Academy Awards. One of was for her performance In The Age of Innocence.
