Jeanie Marie Buss is an American businesswoman. she is currently president and the controlling owner for the Los Angeles Lakers National Basketball Association. Buss was born in California and grew up an heir to a prestigious family. Jerry Buss was her father. Jerry Buss started out as a realty tycoon, and then later owned the Lakers. Their relationship ended in 1972, which caused her to feel like she was abandoned. When she was 19 years old, she was appointed the General Manager of Los Angeles Strings, a professional tennis club.
